Saratoga Technologies - Semi-Finalist for ESGR 2018 Secretary of Defense Freedom Award

Saratoga Technologies was selected as one of 149 semifinalists for the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. A thorough vetting process, from the more than 2,350 nominations submitted by Guardsmen and Reservists, determined the semifinalists. Saratoga is one of five Tennessee businesses to make the semi-final review. To date only 250 employers have received the award.

Saratoga was also presented the Extraordinary Employer Support Award by General(ret) Craig McKinley and BG(ret) Jim Mungenast. Only prior recipients of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award or the Pro Patria Award, who have demonstrated sustained support for three years after receiving one of those awards, are eligible for consideration at the committee level. Subsequent awards may be given in three-year increments from the initial award.

Retired General Craig McKinley was there to present the awards. In addition to serving as the 26th Chief of the National Guard Bureau, he became the first officer from the National Guard to ever achieve the grade of four-star general, as well as the first National Guard Officer to serve as a permanent member on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
